Colton + Rachel || Wedding Day || July 28th 2018

Wedding Day
Colton + Rachel
July 28th, 2018
Saylorville Church + Baratta's Forte

Colton and Rachel were married in the cool amidst the heat wave that had descended on most of the other Saturday weddings in Iowa. Rachel had prayed and prayed for cool weather and no rain, and God delivered the perfect day with just enough cloud cover and blissfully cool temperatures for July!

Colton and Rachel met while serving the youth in their church, which was an absolutely perfect representation of them both. Colton liked her first, and spent many a nights lingering after class trying to start up a conversation with his cute co-leader ;)

Rachel is the perfect spunky, energetic and JOYFUL pair to Colton's heart. He is steady and kind, but HILARIOUS and a great dancer (wait till you hear about their first dance ;))

Did I mention joyful? ;)

The anticipation! I can't stand it! Colton was told to meet us in the park, but when we showed up, he was nowhere to be found! Rachel waited in the car with barely restrained excitement as we (thankfully!) found him and lead him to just the right spot for him to see his beloved for the very first time on their wedding day!

Real tears here all around folks!

They shared a sweet moment joined in prayer before the rush of the day took over. I'm always so honored to get to watch my couple taking a moment to center their hearts and it's such a joy to pray over them and their marriage.

I don't think a more princess worthy dress would even have been found at the royal wedding!

The classy groomsmen of course hammed it up for some shots!
Colton had a great groups of guys standing up with him!

 Sweet, sassy and joyful ladies!

The ol' "Look at the bride and smile!" was easy for these sweet gals. I don't think any of them were ever NOT smiling ;)

 The parents!

The sweetest moment. The church was filled to the brim with guests celebrating their marriage, and the hush of anticipation as Rachel walked down the aisle was only topped by the looks of pure joy on the bride and groom's faces.

Colton + Rachel chose to open their wedding with congregational worship songs. What an awesome moment, surrounded by their loved ones, singing of the faithfulness and goodness of the Father that granted them this great gift of love!

The kiss!

We snuck away for a few moments following the ceremony to capture a few more photos at the nearby World Food Prize Building.

Because I'm never not going to take under the veil shots ;)

The dance! What a blast!
Colton and Rachel both LOVE to dance, and unbeknownst to their family and friends, they choreographed an epic first dance. The music started, slow and sweet with a gentle waltz. Suddenly, the music swelled and they were off, dipping and swirling to the most energetic and fun first dance I think I've seen yet. All the wedding guests were cheering and clapping along with them as they danced, beaming the whole time <3

// And from now on
These eyes will not be blinded by the lights
From now on
What's waited till tomorrow starts tonight
It starts tonight
And let this promise in me start
Like an anthem in my heart
From now on
From now on
From now on //
